Life After Leggings
The comfy pant evolution
Happy Saturday! I hope your blood sugar has stabilized from Halloween. Today we’re digging into a generational divide, right up there with the great socks vs. no-socks debate. Surely you know by now, but in case you don’t, I’m here to inform you: leggings are no longer cool, and should only be worn for their intended purpose, exercise. And by “exercise,” I mean pilates, not errands. Maybe you sensed this shift, or perhaps you were formally notified by this headline?

Now every time I open my leggings drawer, it feels like I’m staring at the last remnants of our COVID comfort era. This one hits us moms especially hard: oversized sweatshirt, leggings, and the sneaker du jour have become the widely accepted mom uniform, even if you have no intention of working out that day. As a sports mom, it’s a double whammy. My weekend pants must be machine washable because I will sit in gum. As I stare down that pile of spandex, I think it’s time to evolve.
Let us heed those wise words. In the spirit of evolution, here are the leggings-free topics we’re covering today:
What to wear for kid’s sports
Comfy daytime pant alternatives
Cool sneakers
