Boobs have never had it so good. We’ve come a long way from Victoria’s Secret, and today’s landscape is full of smart design, better materials, and options for every shape, size, and outfit. But with that comes confusion and decision fatigue, so today’s letter breaks down bras by size, shape goals, outfit needs, and my personal favorite: tape. Whether you’re after structure, subtlety, or just the right thing to squish your boobs into place, this is your streamlined edit.
POV: You have A-C sized boobs and…
(Let’s start with an easy one) You want them to look bigger:

You can turn any bra into a push up bra by adding ‘chicken cutlets’ which, in the world of bras, are squishy inserts for boosting volume.
You want them nicely shaped:

A traditional T-shirt Bra like this from the Gap is exactly what it says it is; a bra to wear under a T-shirt. The stars in this category like this one from Thirdlove are the smoothest and most invisible under clothes, and go further in smoothing your back and sides.

Your bra is visible:
If you’re wearing a sundress or an open blouse, chances are we’re gonna get a visual, so make it nice:

You have a unique dress/top… IT’S TIME FOR TAPE
In my years of styling I’ve found that if you need boobs to stay in place, and you can’t wear a bra, you need to tape them. I was cited in this New York Times article after I appeared on my client’s podcast talking about some of the best looks we’ve done thanks to boob tape. If you’re wondering if you can tape huge boobs, the answer is yes, you just need more tape (also get a wider tape like this).

I’m sure I missed some favorites in this roundup, but drop me a note below and let me know what should’ve made the list. I’m also planning to follow this up with a deep dive into compression wear, date night bras, and all the other categories we didn’t get to (this letter can only be so long!). Bras are a beast—deeply personal, often tangled up in our own stories and hang-ups. But hopefully this helps cut through the noise, or at least introduced you to a few new names worth trying on.
See you next week…

Thank you!!!!!! More bra content pls!!!! B
I wear 38DD (aka E) and I swear, have sworn for the past 17 years (post nursing with heavy, flabby breasts -- not to make anyone jealous!) by Prima Donna multi-piece bras, specifically the Madison and Deauville styles. Oh my god they are the best! I did try the oft recommended Chantelle but its sides (under the arms) are cut too short for my comfort, meaning the ends of the underwire cut into me -- ouch. Prima Donna's are taller and I can literally wear them all day without discomfort. Yes please. For a sports bra I like the wire-free Glamorise Sport bra, super comfy while keeping my breasts secure with minimal bounce.
