This week I had the honor and privilege of being a guest on my dear friends Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider’s podcast, Garbage World. I’ve styled them both at different times over the years and I absolutely love them - they are warm and so funny and they love clothes! I went on to discuss summer fashions and how we can refresh our summer wardrobes without spending a ton. Of course this lead us to the ‘dupe’ conversation, and then to Target talk…
If you follow my Instagram, you’ll know that I periodically peruse Target and call out the copies. This started because I am a stylist, and I shop A LOT. I make weekly trips to Saks and Nordstrom, and comb the pages of multi-label online retailers on the daily. Because I have constant exposure to high end fashion, when I am just a regular gal, shopping at Target, it’s easy for me to spot the influences. And boy are they INFLUENCED at Target. Once I started seeing the copies, I had to call out their origins.
I’ll share the whole podcast episode once it drops, but here are some highlights:
And what’s a conversation about ‘copies’ without Amazon?
I made a collection of my Amazon picks here, my Target finds here, and of course listen to Garbage World here!
So, what else is worth clicking?
I’m not sure what I found more enchanting about the pic above - was it the glasses or the lip stain?
If we add all these up I think you’ve saved at least $50K today. Congratulations on your new found wealth! In all seriousness though, dupe wisely and don’t overdo it. The best way to style a discount find is always to mix it with something quality or vintage.
Until next time, it’s a joy to have you on my style journey, and an even bigger joy to be part of yours ❤️
xo,
Abby
Love those green jeans
Hi Abby, I heard you on Garbage World and it was such a fun show! I’m thinking of getting the Polene tote bag, but I’m wondering if you think it’s a classic or a passing trend (the shape). Thanks!
