Back to School Sneakers
Forget the kids, these are for you
When I was growing up and August rolled around, my back to school shoes were all I thought about until September. I would comb the pages of Sassy and Lucky looking for inspiration, and then drag my mom to Melrose to find the perfect sneaker.
This season still gets my wheels turning because I feel so deeply about the self expression that comes from footwear. Over the summer you blossomed, you learned some lessons, and you evolved. Of course your footwear needs an upgrade too!
Here are my picks
There’s something better than a Samba, it’s called a Spezial. I’ve easily walked 15k steps in these, then did it again the next day. When your friends are profusely complimenting your sneakers you can say ‘oh no they’re not Sambas, they’re Spezial’.
Checkered Vans never went out of style and will always be effortlessly chic. Direct any questions to style icon Morgan Stewart who consistently pairs these with The Row trousers and mini shorts.
I recently welcomed these into my closet and couldn’t be happier. Comfortable like a New Balance running shoe, but chic like a street sneaker.
Moving on to sneaker sneakers - so you can take a workout and a lunch too.
